Welcome to the Democratic Club of Southern Sonoma County!

We are the Democratic Club serving southern Sonoma County. Our club represents Rohnert Park, Cotati, Penngrove, Petaluma and the surrounding area. We welcome everyone to attend our monthly meetings for great speakers, presentations, community action, discussion and one of the best potluck socials around.

Dear Democratic Club of Southern Sonoma County and Friends,

Hope you all enjoyed our BBQ Social on Saturday the 24th – it was a great success and lots of fun.  Want to thank our hosts Bill and Maggie Fishman for all their help and hospitality to put this on; also all our members, volunteers and donors like Fishman Supplies, Iron Horse and Foppiano Vineyards; and our music man – Special Events DJ Rich Steingruber!  And the many wonderful speakers Assemblyman Jared Huffman, Mayor Pam Torliatt for Supervisor, Assembly Candidate Michael Allen, Carole Mills representing Sen. Mark Leno, District Attorney Elect Jill Ravitch, Petaluma City Councilman David Glass, Cotati City Council members Pat Gilardi and Mark Landman; and Susan Moore, No Name Women’s Group re Jerry Brown for Governor Rally.

We need volunteers right away for our day at the Sonoma County Fair Democratic Booth on Monday, August 2nd.  We have 3 shifts from 11-3; 3-7; and 7-10 pm.  Please sign up as soon as possible.  Prefer minimum 2-3 volunteers per shift – that way we can handle the crowds and give each other the chance to walk around, take a break and enjoy the fair, as well.    If we have 4 per shift – then maybe we can even split up into shorter shifts. Please e-mail back to let me know which shift you’d like to do with your phone and email so you can be easily contacted.  Thanks so much!

The following month, please note - we will again forego our regular meeting so that we can collaborate with other Democratic clubs and focus on the big Jerry Brown for Governor Rally, Wednesday eve, August 25th.  If you would like to help and be involved, or would like to be a sponsor for $50 or more, please let me know.  We’ll keep you posted…

All the best,

Therese Horsting, President

Democratic Club of Southern Sonoma County
